The design for the law offices at 450 17th Street was an in-depth collaboration between our firm and established Denver artist Emilio Lobato. The concept was to create an artistic and inspirational environment that directly reflects the core values of the shareholder group. The shareholders purchased the 4th floor of the building as it was breaking ground which enabled the design team considerable control over the final shaping of the space. An inventive and highly artistic use of traditional materials such as wood, concrete, glass and metal fabric sets this unique law firm apart from all others. Preconceptions of a traditional, more conservative “law firm” design approach were abandoned at the outset in favor of a cultural environment that is more in keeping with a beautiful custom home. The details are simple and extremely well articulated, and the lighting design was pivotal to the successful rendition of their exceptional art collection.
